Kent Morris

The title of this blog is simply a shout out to Mr. Kent Morris! He has been giving me a hard time about my lack of blogging, so this one goes out to you KM.

The Ordinary 12:
This week I was reading through Matthew and took a closer look at the 12 Disciples. I am always amazed at how they would drop everything they were doing to follow him. It reminds me of how even the most ordinary person in this day and age can be used by God. I look over the awesome group of people in my church and wonder how many of them are really seeking the will or calling of God. I see some who come fairly faithfully to church but they have little involvement in the church. I wonder what God might really want to be doing with each of them. Check out 1 Corinthians 26-29. I love this passage, it defines me, it defines most of us. God is not looking for the best looking, smartest, tallest, most athletic, most popular person... He is looking for the willing. So how many excuses can you come up with about why you can't? Check this out!
So I hope wherever you are, whatever ministry you are or are not a part of... allow God to turn your ordinary to extraordinary!

Great title !! Brad you are like a solar eclipse ! You dont happen often , but when you do it is always impressive . I am glad I was able to motivate you to return to the blog. I really enjoyed the link to the list of the famous people from the bible and their short commings. It is a good reminder that they were real people first before they were called into their area of service. You are doing great things with the young people at New Life Tabernacle. Keep up the good work !! We are all blessed to have you on our team. I realize that I just put these words out there for the whole world to see on the web. Lets see how many people really read your blog !!hahaha. I'm not worried about too many people seeing it, since it has been months and months since your last post ! Continue to let your light shine !!

Your post has actually convicted me. I know I don't always seek out God's will and calling as intently as I should. A lot of times my walk can consist of surviving one day at a time, ha. But I find encouragment in what you were saying about the disciples. It is crazy to think that todays church was built by using the most ordinary people...thank you for that reminder. You are an awesome youth pastor and I'm stoked about what God is doing with NLT and that He has included me to be apart of it!

Excellent! Thank you for that - just reading through the list of people and their "issues", reminds me that we ALL fit in.

Keep up the good work with our Youth!
